The cross depicts a field of poppies and is adorned with a small hand painted paper poppy. This remembrance cross can have any quote, verse or poem under it. I have white washed and distressed an existing wooden frame to create this effect. The poem and cross are set on a cream or white background. The particular verse I chose was:
'Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendour in the grass or glory in the flower;
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind;’
This cross is dedicated to the memory of my dear Mother who died in 2009, the day after Remembrance Sunday.
The cross depicts a 3D paper lily against a painted vine of leaves. The poem and cross are set on a cream background. The beautiful verse is:
'As long as I can I will look at this world for the both of us.
As long as I can I will sing with the birds,
I will laugh with the flowers,
I will pray to the stars for both of us.’

Here is another verse which I find very uplifting. This can be changed to "he".
"You can shed tears that she is gone,
or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all she has left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see her,
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her and only that she's gone,
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back,
or you can do what she'd want, smile, open your eyes, love and go on!"
